‘Dreamy’ was directed by David Solomon. Writers were Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. In pre-curse FTL, fairy Nova (Amy Acker) wants to be a fairy godmother. But she’s stuck in a dead job as a (fairy) dust carrier. Hauling a bag back and forth between the dwarf mines and her realm.

Unfortunately she’s clumsy and accidently spills some dust on a dwarf egg. This causes the occupant (Lee Arenberg) to hatch before his due date. Watchy (Richard Ian Cox), guardian of the eggs, is a bit freaked. The occupant is fine. Strange but fine.

He dreams of a life outside the mines. And a woman he’s never met. He wants to be more than his pre-ordinated role. Bossy (Ken Kramer) is the mine foreman. Supervising the production of fairy dust. He also keeps the dwarves in line. He gives each a magical ax. The blade cuts diamonds.

When each hatching holds one in their hands, it reveals their name. Something that is based on their personality or who they are. The occupant is now known as Dreamy. His brothers are Sleepy (Faustino Di Bauda), Sneezy (Gabe Khouth), Doc (David Paul Grove), Bashful (Mig Micario), Dopey (Jeffrey Kaiser), Happy (Mike Coleman) and Stealthy (Geoff Gustafson).

Dreamy meets Nova. When she accidently drops a bag into the machinery, he rescues it. Both are smitten with the other. Bossy and The Blue Fairy (Keegan Connor Tracy) break them up. The Blue Fairy told him Nova won’t reach her full potential if she’s with him. Dreamy takes his heartache out on the mines. He ends up breaking the ax. The new one has renamed him Grumpy.

In Storybrooke, Leroy (Lee Arenberg) runs into Sister Astrid (Amy Acker) at the Miner’s Festival. Because of her mistake, the nuns won’t make rent. If they don’t have the $5000, Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) will evict them. Somehow she must sell all her candles.

Nothing works. Finally, Leroy trashes a transformer to create a blackout. The candles sell like hotcakes.

The good: Lee Arenberg as Dreamy was a cute, cuddly and huggable teddy bear. Amy Acker as klutzy kind hearted fairy Nova was too cute and lovable. Love Grumpy and Astrid. More Arenberg and Acker please. More Team 7 with Stealthy.

The bad: Why aren’t there any female dwarfs? It would have been nice to see a dwarf village with kids running around. An OUAT version of the LOTR’s Shire. Why did the Blue Fairy have to break up the happy couple?

The ugly: The parts about the missing Kathryn should’ve been on the next episode. It took time away from the Grumpy and Astrid romance. Found it hard to believe that Astrid wouldn’t hang out with the guy who saved her bacon. Did she know he tried to sell his boat to help her? Did he ever repair the vessel and sail around Storybrooke?
