OUAT’s ‘The Heart of the Truest Believer’ was directed by Ralph Hemecker. Writers were Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.

In Neverland, it’s the Charming clan Charming (Josh Dallas), Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) vs Rumple (Robert Carlyle), The Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) and Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) in their quest to find Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) in Neverland. Well Rumple was a team player for about five minutes then he bailed. Like the cool cat he is.

The rest have to learn to work together if they don’t kill each other first. Greg (Ethan Embry) and Tamara (Sonequa Martin-Green) learn who they’re working for and what the Home Office is. They’re not happy. The boss Peter Pan (Robbie Kay) lied. Sorry. Rumple visited Neverland as a child? Did Peter Pan’s shadow take him or someone else? How did he escape?

In FTL, Phillip (Julian Morris), Aurora (Sarah Bolger) and Mulan (Jamie Chung) have nursed Bae (Michael Raymond-James) back to health. After quick introductions, Bae learns he’s back home. Guess he had no choice but to admit he’s the Dark One’s son.

Aurora and Philip were willing to help. Especially after they learned Bae knows Emma and Henry is his son. Mulan was initially suspicious but she escorts him to the Dark Castle.

The good: Emma’s speechless at the sight of leather clad Mr. Gold. Rumple as The Darker One. He knows how to make an entrance. He’s always there to smack sense into people. He’s right everyone needs to set up if they hope to survive. Love the fights and heart to heart chats between the main characters. Not sorry how Tamera and Greg were played. They deserved it. Pixie Dust!

The best snark belongs to The Evil Queen. Everybody listen up. Emma’s in charge. The season one takes no prisoner’s gal is back! Robin Hood found an interesting place to hide during the curse. The audience learned only part of the truth when it came to Peter Pan’s schemes. Exactly why does he need him? Can’t wait to learn more about Neverland, our new characters and Wonderland in the spinoff.

The best part about the new split format are eleven uninterrupted episodes. Hopefully we’ll see more of Team 7, Sassy Granny, Sidney, Jefferson, Ruby, Graham, Dr. Whale, Archie, Blue Superior, Geppetto, August, King George, Anton, Maurice and Maleficent. Will Belle and her dad Maurice come to an understanding? Will Nova and Grumpy get back together? Anymore B&W Frankenstein episodes?

The bad: How did Bae know about his dad’s castle and the blood magic spells? Why can’t Rumple enchant something and do another blood magic GPS thing to find Henry? Will we see the flashbacks where Rumple told or tried to teach Bae what he knew about magic?

The ugly: It wasn’t two hours of new material. Maybe there will be repeats/marathons of enhanced episodes with behind the scenes info.
