Year in Review: Number Four ‘Act of Valor’

‘Act of Valor’ was directed by Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh. Screenwriter is Kurt Johnstad. Starring active duty U.S. Navy SEALs and U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen. Along with Nestor Serrano, Roselyn Sanchez, Emilio Rivera and Alex Veadov.

Hollywood storylines and actual missions combine for non-stop action. CIA agents Walter Ross (Nestor Serrano) and Lisa Morales (Roselyn Sanchez) are in Costa Rica for Intel gathering. When their cover is blown. Ross is killed and Morales is taken hostage. SEAL Team Seven and Navy Special Forces (Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen) are tasked with the rescue mission.

Once that is complete, they learn of a plot more deadly than 9-11. A terrorist group has created an unknown number of bomb vests. They will send a host of people to detonate suicide vests around the U.S. Both teams partner with Mexican Special Forces to level a key distribution factory and eliminate the terrorists.

The good: Real life heroes. The appearance by the USS Bonhomme Richard. All those who protect our freedom.

The bad: It was hard to tell the military apart from one another.

The ugly: No sequel.
